You will be a key stakeholder in steering the development of this unique venue in Canberra.
An ongoing permanent full-time opportunity - Dickson.
The Tradies has been a Canberra institution for 50 years, operating a licensed community club and hotel in Dickson. The Canberra Wine House and Cellar Door, nestled inside The Dickson Tradies, is an institution of passion and support for the local region.
The Canberra Wine House offers tastings; a magnificent wine bar, a tapas menu comprised of entirely local produce, competitively-priced takeaway bottle purchases and live entertainment.
The Wine House Venue and Events Manager (WHEM) is a member of the Tradies Group senior management team and is responsible and accountable for both the ongoing development and day to day operation of the The Canberra Wine House.
The WHEM will also work to and coordinate with the Hotel Manager on all events developed and staged by Tradies Group. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer but will also have a secondary reporting line to the Hotel Manager.
You will liaise with all other relevant departments to achieve a high standard of service delivery.
A passion and interest for Wine will be beneficial, but it is not essential as a background in events management will represent a significant component of your time management.
Ideally some experience with online promotion & social media management will also be beneficial as you will have responsibility for the Canberra Wine House Website and other social media platforms including Face Book and Instagram.
The pride you will take in the operation will ensure that the cleanliness and presentation of The Wine House is exemplary at all times. The Wine House often provides private wine tastings and functions so your event management experience will come to the forefront.
In this context you will also liaise with all potential clients, handling all enquiries; coordinate all set up and catering requirements for Wine House Events.
The Wine House customer service attendants are direct reports with this role and you will provide recommendations to senior management on staff, including training requirements and staffing levels.
