DRIVER - NEWCASTLE

city and regional port and transport facilities across Australia.
Newcastle Operations currently undertakes a range of activities with a need for transportation
across local and interstate highways. Reporting to the Newcastle Operations Manager, this role
requires an experienced heavy vehicle driver with strong communication skills to pick up and deliver
cargo in a safe and productive manner.
Operation of prime mover with semi-
trailer in length from 40 to 48 singles to b double, road trains
and Truck & Dog configurations.
Delivery of various cargoes from Qube Ports or other facility to and from customers premises
Loading and unloading and transport of other cargoes include pipe, steel products, containers
Operation of a street-sweeper to effectively clean the wharf and roads as requested
Securing of loads onto trailer in accordance with relative cargo securing procedures
Basic servicing of equipment incidental to the performance of functions at this grade
Basic security duties incidental to the performance of functions at this grade
Clerical tasks incidental to the performance of functions at this grade
Other basic clerical tasks
Observe Qube Ports policies and procedures as they apply to the tasks assigned
Be in possession of a current relevant
license for the required vehicle and trailer
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years semi-trailer experience in general cargo
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
Ability to work well within a small team environment
Basic mechanical knowledge in dealing with heavy vehicles
