Service Assurance Operations

Service Assurance Operations' Mission is to be the 24x7 centre for Incident Management of networks, platforms, applications and products managed by Telstra. We aim to deliver the world's leading incident communications and incident management business.

About the role:

Your role as a Technical Expert will be to provide technical service, solutions and support to the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied and operated by Telstra.

This role will also include a focus on Complex Fault Investigation, Project participation and operational improvement. Additionally, this role will undertake day to day operational tasks, network audits, network activity reviews and proactive maintenance tasks. This role will ensure the required service levels and reliability are maintained, coupled with assisting with the delivery of projects and solutions into the environment

Your key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Proactively monitor Federal Government systems to identify current and impending system faults.
  • Provide oversight of WAN/LAN deployment teams and develop processes and configurations for the smooth activation of customer services
  • Proactively maintain customer networks and supporting infrastructure to ensure great customer outcomes.
  • React quickly and effectively in support of other operations teams to achieve the best possible outcomes, in the event of network outages.
  • Support the assurance teams with the provision of good quality tools and processes in order to achieve SLA outcomes.
  • Work effectively and co-operatively in the team to achieve business unit outcomes.
  • Use monitoring and diagnostic tools to identify current and impending system faults.
  • Perform routing and switching troubleshooting and provide assistance during incidents to quickly and effectively restore system functionality
  • As required, perform scheduled system changes to support Government Operations
  • Assist in identifying and documenting improvements to existing processes and procedures that align to business unit procedures.
  • Undertake other duties as directed.

*Please note: Due to the nature of the work applicants MUST hold a Negative Vetting (NV1) security clearance. This role in Canberra.

What we looking for:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Relevant Industry Certifications (CCNP or above) or expert level equivalent experience
  • Juniper, Cisco WASS and F5 experience will be advantage
  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical support environment working with Cisco, Juniper, F5  products and routing protocols.
  • Solving problems of moderate to high complexity
  • Experience in representing operational team's requirements as part of project teams for deployment of new platforms ( Operational Readiness Accpetance ) and life cycle engineering forums.
  • Experience maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Must hold valid  Australian  Government Security Clearance - NV1
