Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for providing:

  • Supervision and oversight of a multi-disciplinary team which includes (but not limited to), Paediatric Therapists, Lead Practitioners and Lead Practitioners Community Development.
  • Managing key relationships with Health, NDIA and other community interfaces.
  • Ensuring the quality and compliance of all aspects of the service.

The introduction of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is the greatest change to care sector in Australia in decades. UnitingCare Community has been selected as the community partner for the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) in the roll out of the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) program in Townsville, Mackay and Toowoomba.

As Team Leader, Early Childhood Early Intervention, you will be responsible for providing support, supervision and oversight of a multi-disciplinary team which includes (but is not limited to), Paediatric Therapists, Lead Practitioners and administration. A major part of your role will also be managing key relationships with Health, NDIA and other community interfaces and ensuring the quality and compliance of all aspects of the service.

Working both autonomously and as part of team, this position is accountable to the Project Lead Early Childhood Early Intervention and to young children and their families.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Recognised qualifications and experience in clinical service delivery. This might include Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or Nursing.
  • Proven ability to provide supervision and mentoring to a multidisciplinary clinical team, adding strong organisational and leadership skills and supporting the team as a whole to achieve outcomes and contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practice within Early Childhood Early Intervention.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in both individual and group interventions within the home and community setting.
  • A collaborative work approach and team orientation

Remuneration: base salary + super+ salary packaging
