Position Information Condobolin High School is seeking a compassionate and innovative teacher who can work in one of our two support classes. Condobolin High School (enrolment of 210 students, including 49% Aboriginal students) is located on the Lachlan River on the western margin of the Lachlan Valley. The school attracts 6 transfer points and is an incentive transfer school. It has a mix of both experienced and early career teaching staff providing wide ranging opportunities for students at the school. Quality teaching practices have been a feature of the school`s professional learning activities and the school remains focused on providing a quality learning environment for all students. Condobolin High School is the hub school for the Lachlan Access Program. There are 4 core schools in this learning community. The school has a Family Occupation Education Index (FOEI) of 142 and attracts significant Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding. The school is a PBL school with strong links with our local community. There is a strong focus on student welfare and learning support.
Selection Criteria Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, behaviour difficulties, emotional disturbance and moderate intellectual disabilities.
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate quality individual learning and behaviour support plans to facilitate improved student learning outcomes.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team and effectively communicate with students, parents, staff and outside agencies.
Understanding the educational and welfare needs of students from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families.
