Teacher – Newtown

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Teacher to develop programs and practices that are responsive to our children’s needs and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard.

Goodstart Newtown is a three room child care centre catering for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old.


We have a funded Kindergarten program with passionate, dedicated educators.


Each educator has their own special talents which they share with the children. Some having cultural backgrounds or creative skills that are shared throughout the centre.  


Goodstart Newtown prides itself on its implementation of sustainable practices, where the children are taught to reduce, re-use and recycle materials, food and waste.

Your role

  • Hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved)
  • Hold a current First Aid qualification
  • Work in a purpose built, well resourced centre with 3 rooms, leading a 33 place 3-5 year room, leading a 11 place funded program
  • Set Shift times – 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Centre has incursions and excursions in place
  • Plan innovative and engaging learning experiences
  • Champion positive and meaningful relationships with children
  • Full time, permanent role commencing in January 2018
  • Centre has the happy feet (dance & fitness) program
  • Centre is running at full occupancy and is exceeding as per assessment and rating




  • Assess children’s learning and development and apply pedagogical expertise to inform curriculum decisions
  • Maintain and apply expert knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Seek and share best practice examples to improve the education program
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with families, children and the centre team
  • Model effective application of pedagogy in teaching practice
  • Contribute to a professional and positive work culture
