About the role

Provide case management for clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This position will have a strong Domestic Violence focus and will be based at our Women's Crisis accommodation service. (A copy of the position description is provided below).

The Bega Valley Homelessness Support Service operates across the Bega Valley region to provide a generalist Homelessness Support Service. Our trained & qualified staff will provide tailored support, advocacy & outreach to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Our service includes a 4 bedroom crisis accommodation facility in Bega for women with or without children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to family and domestic violence. The service is supported by Richmond PRA who will provide Living Skills specialists to work with all our clients.

Duties

  • Respond to referrals of clients to the service from internal and external support services and conduct formal assessments of suitability for support.
  • Induct clients into the service including the property, facilities, financials and regulations.
  • Work with clients to create individualized support plans including referral to supplementary services as needed.
  • Provide ongoing case management sessions with clients and review progression against case plans and provide informal counselling as required.
  • Assist clients in the process of transition out of the service into independence or other services.

Qualifications & experience

  • 2 year Diploma in Social Welfare (or higher) or relevant industry experience
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Availability for On call rotational roster
