Service Technician with a Mechanical / Hydraulic background and significant mining experience required for immediate start by leading international provider of winder systems.


Client Details


Our client, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of winder systems for the mining industry is looking for an experienced Service Technician with a Mechanical background to join their operations in Sydney. As an international market leader they exhibit stability rarely seen within the mining industry and offer the opportunity to work with leading technology on major mine sites across Australia.


Description


Reporting to the service manager you will focus on the both mechanical and hydraulic erection and commissioning programs. The role will be a mix between office and site based work and will also involve;



  • Working closely with Project Engineers on routine maintenance & refurbishment projects

  • Safety driven individual with a strong focus on maintaining strong working relationships

  • Performing service contracts in the maintenance and support sales programs

  • Producing professional technical documentation

  • Capital equipment installation

  • Liaising with technical and sales staff to maintain quality standard

  • Promoting best practice during service work

  • Supporting company quality management polices


Profile


You will have extensive site based engineering experience with a real passion for the mining industry alongside;



  • At least 5 years mechanical experience with relevant tertiary / trade qualifications

  • Proven track record of upholding safety standards to the highest level

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously

  • Advanced MS Office skills in particular Word and Excel

  • The ability to build strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

  • High adaptability and the ability to perform in a high pressure environment

  • Must be able to read hydraulic schematics and trouble shoot hydraulic systems.

  • Ability to travel and spend time on remote mine sites.
