Senior Manager Communications

Our client is committed to delivering educational information and legislation changes to all Victorians. They are a pivotal organisation dedicated to supporting the community and have key stakeholders both inside and outside of government. They are looking for a talented communications professional to find the narrative in technical information and legislation changes and deliver communications that resonates with a wider audience.

The role

The Manager Senior Communications is responsible for leading a team of professionals who disseminate information provided by specialists, government (policy) and educators into innovative communications for the general public. There is an opportunity to continue to digitise the information for easy download through websites. The role requires high level stakeholder management and negotiation and the ability to work with specialists including legal teams to translate the information for distribution.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A communications or journalism background
  • Proven experience disseminating information for lay audiences
  • People leadership experience
  • High level negotiation and stakeholder skills
  • Understanding of policy and legislation and how to communicate it
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines in a busy environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence others positively
