This role is focused around the implementation of Salesforce.com for a number of projects, therefore being able to develop but also suggest best practice is key. This means involvement in all aspects of the system development lifecycle - working with the business analyst to understand requirements, design and document the technical solution, carry out system configuration as well as writing code to meet the business requirements to deployment.

Key accountabilities. 

  • Translate business needs into solution design using the latest and most suitable Salesforce functionality
  • Creation and management of VisualForce and Apex triggers/classes using standard controllers, custom controllers, controller extension, test classes
  • Involvement in all aspects of system development lifecycle - working with business analyst/business users to understand requirements, design and documentation of the technical solution, carry out development work to testing and deployment
  • Ensure the use of the latest and most suited Salesforce functionality to solve business problems.
  • Suggest & apply best practices for customising Salesforce
  • Research to overcome system limitations to achieve the best business outcome & solutions
  • Provide accurate solution time estimates 
  • Salesforce.com administration & configuration
  • Troubleshooting

The right person will have: 

  • deep understanding of Salesforce.com products and functionality
  • extensive understanding of the Salesforce.com data model and how and when to create custom objects, junction objects, and other model items.
  • minimum 1 year of Salesforce.com development experience
  • minimum 3 years of Java/.NET development experience 
  • experience with the Force.com web services API
  • good knowledge of SOQL
  • ability to take ownership and manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • outstanding teamwork & communication skills
  • keen attention to detail 
  • keen learner committed to self-improvement, skill development and stay on top of SFDC releases
  • experience with formal delivery methodologies and development best practices
