SA Pharmacy is seeking Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to join the team on a casual basis and contribute to the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service. You will support the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient Dispensary Service by processing prescriptions, accurately complying with the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme/Special Access Scheme and Clinical Trials. You will also contribute to the manufacture, repacking and labelling of sterile, non-sterile and cytotoxic pharmaceuticals, following standard operating procedures and ensuring compliance with the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice and Society of Hospital Pharmacists Guidelines. Pharmacy Assistants will also undertake a range of cashier/reception activities for inpatients and outpatients, including responding to counter and telephone enquiries, providing accurate and appropriate information whilst ensuring confidentiality, considering medico-legal implications and referring to a Pharmacist or other health professional when necessary. For appointment at the AHP3/OPS2 level, you will have proven experience in a hospital pharmacy, for OPS1 experience is required as a dispensing technician in a community pharmacy. For appointment at the AHP2/3 level, you will hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or an equivalent qualification, and be registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia. You will possess good organisation skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, along with good technical/manipulative skills. Effective communication skills will go hand in hand with your ability to dispense medication for patients and manufacture sterile, non-sterile and cytotoxic pharmaceuticals.
