Registered Nurse - Day Surgery

The Mater Hospital is a world class facility operating over 231 hospital beds and with our Maternity unit being voted the Best Private Maternity Unit in NSW, our experienced team of healthcare professionals, care givers and support staff are equipped to provide the highest level of therapeutic, medical and surgical services.

  

We have an available PART TIME Position in DAY SURGERY 

The Opportunity

  

We are a dynamic department within an organisation strongly aligned with our values of compassion, integrity, justice and excellence. The Day Surgery unit receives patients from 13 theatres and an Endoscopy theatre. We care for patients from a wide variety of surgical specialties including orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, breast surgery, melanoma and plastics, endoscopy and angiography procedures. We offer roster flexibility, structured and supportive orientation and great learning opportunities. The unit is currently open Monday to Friday from 0600am to 2030pm.

 

About You

  

Are you an enthusiastic, caring RN with Day Surgery and or Recovery experience? We are looking for RNs for our busy Day Surgery Unit with a minimum of 2 years experience that are excited by the opportunity to join our friendly team and expand your knowledge and skills in Day Surgery Nursing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity and training to work in all areas of the unit including Recovery, Admissions, Discharge and Endoscopy. We offer roster flexibility, structured and supportive orientation and great learning opportunities.

The candidate must have:

  • Authority to practice nursing with AHPRA as Registered Nurse
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Minimum two years post graduate experience.
  • Strong commitment to a continuous improvement philosophy
  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Commitment to continued professional development
