Payroll Officer

The Company


My client is a national organization who over the past few years has experienced significant growth. Owing to their continued success, they require an experienced Payroller to join their expanding operations and manage a Payroll Assistant.


The Role


Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant and working as part of a team, you will take ownership for:



  • Weekly pay runs for approximately 400 employees

  • Manage and update staff time sheets for preparation of Payroll.

  • Supervise and manage one payroll assistant

  • Interpret multiple awards

  • Calculation of superannuation and payroll tax

  • Calculation of redundancy, termination and salary adjustments

  • Calculation PAYG

  • Payroll, general ledger cost centres, tax and clearing accounts reconciliations

  • Produce and supply Payroll Costing report for management

  • Manage leave tables and post leave liabilities

  • Undertake all tasks in relation staff rehabilitation management and Workers compensation process

  • Monitor and manage all Workers Compensation claims

  • New employment paperwork Preparation and Process

  • Liaise with external training partners to manage company training program

  • Ad-hoc projects as requested by management


What We Need



  • 5 years minimum experience in end-to-end payroll within a medium/large sized payroll environment;

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Awards and Enterprise Agreements;

  • Knowledge of relevant employment and tax legislation;

  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus;

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Skills

  • Knowledge of Attache system desored



Situated in Chatswood, my client is close to the train station and offers free parking. For the right candidate salary is $60-65k + super, annual leave and other benefits.
