Manage large internal department events and develop communication strategies for changing operational policies

Your new company
This large and well known federal government department is located on the north side of Canberra and is seeking the skills of an experienced Strategic Communications & Events Manager to work within the corporate communications section at either the PAO2 or PAO3 level.

Your new role
Will be to work as a part of an established and operational team in a high tempo environment, providing communication advice and support to policy, programme and operational areas.

As the Communications and Events Manager you'll be required to work in partnership with multiple business areas as well as under the direction of the Director to deliver a variety of communication solutions, including, but not bring limited to:

  • Developing and implementing communication strategies

  • Booking and placement of advertising

  • Working with the internal Production and Design Section to develop communication materials

  • Writing and editing of articles and communication materials

  • Planning and managing internal events

  • Event and media coordination

What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience working in a similar role, ideally within federal government, will ensure that you have the ability to grasp the requirements behind this position quickly and lead influential decisions.

Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in public affairs and communications is highly desirable.

This position requires you to hold a minimum baseline security clearance, so only Australian citizens who have the ability to obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance at this level or higher need apply.
