Outreach Health Services Team Lead. Full-time opportunity based in Darwin or Alice Springs, NT.

Your new organisation
This large, healthcare-focused not-for-profit organisation is currently seeking an Outreach Health Services Team Lead to provide leadership, strategic oversight and management of the Outreach Health Services program which sub-contracts the delivery of visiting primary health services to rural and remote communities throughout the Northern Territory.

Your new role
In this role you’ll manage the Outreach team to plan, manage and coordinate health services provided by sub-contracted service providers. This role will oversee the implementation of approved service delivery plans and the delivery of multidisciplinary comprehensive primary health care to meet the needs of people living in rural and remote Northern Territory. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team in planning and coordinating the delivery of sub-contracted visiting primary health care services across the NT.

  • Participating in service mapping activities by obtaining, recording and analysing data relevant to outreach health services to identify service gaps.

  • Overseeing the implementation of approved annual service plans based on a needs-based planning model.

  • Working with the Contracts and Procurement team to manage sub-contracting arrangements for all services.

  • Ensuring effective management of internal and external stakeholder relationships relating to outreach services.

  • Overseeing the program budget.

  • Setting the framework for the team to apply the principles of evidence-based practice, implementing a structured approach to program evaluation and post-implementation reviews, needs identification and ongoing improvements.

What you'll need to succeed
Among other requirements and skills, you’ll have a demonstrated understanding of the primary health care sector including rural and remote services, Indigenous health and cultural safety, and issues in cross cultural health service delivery. You’ll also have the ability to effectively consult, brief, negotiate and liaise with service providers and the community, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team of staff to plan, implement and evaluate a Territory-wide health program. Additionally you’ll have the demonstrated ability to identify, develop, implement and review policies and procedures.
