Nanofabrication Internships - Industry FocusedThe OpportunityIf you`re after a rewarding career, Monash University can help make it happen!Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN) is a world-class nanofabrication centre, combining cutting-edge technologies with the knowledge and skills of expert process engineers. The MCN represents a $50million investment in micro- nanotechnology infrastructure as a joint venture between six Victorian Universities and the CSIRO. It is located in the heart of the South-East Melbourne Innovation Precinct and is openly accessible to any researchers in academia, CSIRO or industry.The MCN and Australian National Fabrication Facility Victoria are currently seeking interns to be partnered with industry clients to work on 2-6 month internship projects.The Industry Engagement Program is aimed at Masters or PhD students that are interested in gaining invaluable experience working with ground-breaking businesses in sectors that rely on micro and nanofabrication. This paid internship scheme will see successful candidates working predominantly within MCN to gain training and conduct research on behalf of their industry partner.Successful interns will work closely with an employer to drive an industrially relevant project; receive training in a cleanroom facility from expert engineers; and interact with key personnel within the affiliated company in a research capacity – offering enormous potential for long-term job opportunities.Project activity will be primarily supervised by the industry partner, with prioritised technical and operational support from MCN staff.Project milestones/goals will be tuned to allow completion within a 2-6 month span and may be performed in a casual, part-time or full-time capacity depending on the availability of the candidates and the demands of the individual projects.
