Tennis ACT are drafting our next superstar Manager of Places to Play and Government Relations – could it be you?
Reporting to the CEO – Tennis ACT, you will be responsible for implementing and driving Tennis ACT’s Places to Play and government relations strategies. Your key responsibilities will include the strategy and implementation for new facilities in growth corridors, whilst driving the objectives that improve venues and their accessibility to grow participation in the sport. This will include engaging local councils in planning, educating clubs to achieve sustainability through innovation and effective management models, and much more!
This dynamic 3-year fixed term role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a high level of stakeholder engagement with Tennis Australia and the ACT Government, ensuring Tennis ACT is best positioned to advocate for tennis in funding opportunities, policy development and decision making.
As the Manager Places to Play & Government Relations, you will responsible for supporting our team in the following areas:
Liaising with the ACT Government whilst leading the strategic objectives and highlighting key facilities to support the growth of tennis in ACT
Managing relationships between Tennis ACT, Tennis Australia and the ACT Government regarding funding for tennis infrastructure and facility operations
Implementing strategies and establishing clear processes for the delivery of key projects
With support of Tennis ACT, maximising number of tennis bodies affiliated with Tennis ACT

What you’ll bring to the role:
Demonstrated understanding of current facility development issues
Previous experience liaising with Government to coordinate and implement project initiatives
Awareness of the challenges associated with administering tennis clubs and centres
Tertiary qualifications in sports administration/management/business or other relevant field
A passion for working as part of a hands-on team and growing the game of Tennis Australia
Flexible with working hours, particularly around events and peak times
Full Time/Part Time arrangements negotiable for the right candidate
