SMYL Community Services is a not-for-profit community based organisation seeking applications from interested persons for the delivery of literacy and numeracy programmes.

A position exists in Kalgoorlie for a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Teacher/Trainer for delivery of the Adult Migrant Education Programme.

The position is available for an immediate start

Applicants should possess a recognised undergraduate degree of at least 3 years duration and:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) or equivalent, including a unit in Foundation skills and at least 100 hours teaching English as a second language or adult/literacy/numeracy in the last three years; and
  • A recognised post-graduate Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages qualification in adult education.

Applicants should also possess:

  • Current working knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.
  • Proven ability to develop, design and implement individual learning programs and assessment strategies and materials.
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
  • Current Working With Children check and drivers licence.
