Fantastic opportunity for a Accounts Officer to join a boutique accounting firm in Hurstville.

A boutique accounting & financial planning firm is seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to support the qualified members of the team.
Having been established for 20+ years with offices around the state, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a stable environment with a wealth of knowledge between the team members.

The office is based in Hurstville and is close to public transport options.

Your new role

This is a varied and part time role across three days per week. Reporting to and supporting the Senior Accountant, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Coding of bank and credit card statements

  • Journal entry up to Trial Balance

  • Generate various reports and enter into Excel system

  • Assist with the preparation of BAS lodgement and Tax return

  • Liaise with ATO regarding client queries

  • Liaise with clients and investment companies to update them on queries and services

  • Ad hoc office admin and maintenance such as mailing, filing, telephone answering and preparing meeting rooms.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be studying or hold a qualification in Accounting of at least Advanced Diploma

  • Past experience in a similar role

  • Have a flexible working attitude

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Be comfortable liaising with clients and external stakeholders to handle queries

  • Ideally have experience with HandiLedger and HandiTax systems or MYOB

  • Be at at least Intermediate level Excel

As this is an urgent requirement the successful candidate must be immediately available or on short notice period.
