Our Sport and Recreation team requires a temporary (12 months) full-time member of the team to:

  • engage with sporting groups, clubs and organisations to assist in maximising the opportunities for participation in sport and recreation.

  • assist with conducting research for the evaluation of key issues/findings relating to policy, plans and strategies.

  • assist with implementing, monitoring, reviewing and reporting on activities within the Sport and Recreation plans, strategies and policies.

  • maintain a broad knowledge of planning, organising, reviewing and administration of the allocation of sporting grounds to clubs.

  • provide support to the Sport and Recreation department.

The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications and/or experience developing, delivering and engaging with sporting groups.  Essential to success will be an understanding of club development, participation and sport allocation processes and proficiency in the application of standardised Sports and Recreation procedures and practices.

The preferred applicant may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical), and aptitude testing. 

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
