Your new role
Working within a North Queensland team that look after rural economic development your position will be involved in various projects targeted on agri-business and environmental performance. Your primary focus will be the economic evaluation of production systems within sugarcane and beef.
The position is front facing liaising directly with farm owners and agri-business clients to evaluate production systems, identify economic and technical issues and conduct economic data analysis to produce reports and deliver on project outcomes.
The projects are committed to developing more economically, environmentally and socially sustainable farming and grazing systems for the region.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this position you must be degree qualified in a relevant discipline which may include business, economics or accounting and be able to summarise a business applying economic methodology. Experience in the agriculture industry is not essential however an understanding and interest in the area is preferred. You will have strong communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
This position will suit a graduate or intermediately experienced economist and deliverables and training will be adapted to suit.
