Support Analyst and Trainer

About the team

The Support Analyst and Trainer role sits within the Service Support team of the Whole of Government Systems Branch. The Service Support team provides level 2 and level 3 support functions, business administration and liaison with client agencies consuming Australian Business Licence and Information Service (ABLIS), Australian Business Account (ABA), SmartForms, Business Registration Service (BRS), VANguard and ABN and Super Fund Lookup Services.  The occupant of the position will also provide support to the Service Manager as required in addition to their general service support and administration functions.

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate will have strong experience in eliciting and documenting training requirements ICT system features, capturing system changes and updating support and training materials. You will also have a strong understanding of the training needs of non-technical support staff and have demonstrated experience in delivering training and presentations, to a diverse audience of non-technical system users.

What you will do

Your primary role will be to contribute to the effective delivery and support of various online whole of government ICT systems.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • developing well written, logical and considered documentation to support a systems analysis and training function within an Agile development framework
  • determining and developing training documentation for non-technical support staff
  • managing stakeholder expectations in regards to the detail and quality of support and training documentation
  • working effectively with and across multiple system development teams
  • delivering training to non-technical system support staff
  • participating in planning activities for the work area.


To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, applicants must be Australian Citizens.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.


This process is being used to fill a temporary APS Level 6 vacancy. A merit pool may be established to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing APS Level 6 vacancies, should they become available within 12 months from the date advertised.
