About the role:

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for planning and delivering Portfolio programs within the wider Optus business. .  The role requires management of multiple stakeholders with competing demands and an ability to think both strategically and tactically, move from design to execution, be highly proactive, resilient and flexible and ensure high-quality execution and adoption of the Portfolios



  • End to end Portfolio Management including strategy, planning, and implementation at project level
  • Working with Sales Managers Solution designer, Architects, business leads, VP’s, project sponsors and business owners to ensure the Portfolio approach aligns to the portfolio
  • Implementation planning, managing and delivering facets of Portfolio to people impacted by the Portfolio and project outcomes including business process, training and communications.
  • Reporting status of Portfolio management and communication activities and assisting in identifying, reporting and escalating key Portfolio issues and risks within the project.
  • Acts as a strong advocate of organisational people strategies and leader led principles
  • Operate with integrity and build trust with all stakeholders
  • Individual contributor role within a matrixed organisation


Experience required

  • 5+ years’ experience in significant project and/or Portfolio related roles in large enterprise settings and dealing with complex Portfolio.
  • Experience and knowledge of Portfolio management principles and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and strong consultative approach
  • Ability to be have a strategic view and see the bigger picture while still being able to keep attention to detail when required
