Your new company
Become part of a progressive, innovative and highly competent HR capabilities team, shaping HR policy across an innovative, high-presence Federal government agency. Our client is seeking experienced APS6 Workforce Planning specialist with a track record of success in implementing government workforce frameworks, developing workforce plans and measuring capability.


Your new role
You will be part of a high-performing team, working collaboratively on ways to ensure the department’s workforce is well placed to meet its future challenges through the development and implementation of workforce frameworks, strategies and initiatives. You will be required to work with the team to:



  • Implement activities detailed in the department’s Strategic Workforce Plan

  • Provide advice and guidance to divisions on workforce planning concepts;

  • Implement whole of government workforce frameworks such as the Job Family Model, Job Roles Evaluation and Management Structures;

  • Assist in developing the department’s next workforce plan; and

  • Help define ways to better measure capability change and maturity.






What you'll need to succeed


You will be a highly-motivated, collaborative individual able to demonstrate abilities to think critically and creatively. You will have experience in workforce planning and implementation of whole of government workforce policies, frameworks and initiatives.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following:



  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Background in HR reporting and using HR systems

  • Familiarity with APS and HR terminology (employment terms, metrics etc)

  • Previous experience working with SAP

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Previous experience in workforce planning and implementation of whole of government workforce policies, frameworks and initiatives

  • Conduct research and gather information from a wide variety of sources. Make linkages between legislation, strategic priorities and project plans

  • Relevant qualifications in human resource management, similar qualifications or equivalent experience are highly desirable, along with a continued willingness to learn.




Additional Eligibility Criteria – Australian Citizenship


You must be an Australian citizen and will possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a (Baseline, NV1 or NV2) personnel security clearance.

  • Competitive APS6 salary in circa $80k - $90k per annum (depending on your experience) + 15.4% super
