Executive Officer – Permanency Support Program -Full-Time, Ongoing
An exciting Executive level opportunity exists in managing and leading South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation’s Permanency Support Program. The Permanency Support Program introduces a series of changes that commenced 1 October 2017, which shifts the current placement-based service system to one that is centred on safety, permanency and wellbeing for children, young people and their families and kin. The Permanency Support Program is one of the most significant changes to the child protection and out-of-home care system and is part of a broader suite of reforms.
The position will be responsible for ensuring the program works effectively with children, young people, siblings, foster carers, birth families and significant others, to support, stable, positive and sustainable permanent placement options. The role will be responsible for ensuring delivery of a therapeutic case management model that ensures all domains of a child or young person's life are addressed and birth families are supported to improve their overall wellbeing and functioning. Where possible, permanency goals should be focused towards family preservation and/or restoration, however where this is not possible, permanency goals for Aboriginal Children and Young Person/s look to support guardianship or long-term foster care.
An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant commensurate with relevant qualifications and experience.
