Aboriginal Health NFP requires Practice Manager in Far North QLD - Travel to Mount Isa & remote communities


Your new company
Is an Aboriginal Health Service that provides holistic and culturally appropriate health services to local residents. The Health Service primary aim is to support local communities in their own approaches to healthy living. They provide a broad range of services including Medical, Allied Health, Maternal and Child Health as well as family focused Mental Health services.


Your new role
Reporting to the Normanton-based Health Services Manager, you will supervise a great team of GPs, Nurses, Allied Health Workers, Care Coordinators, Transport and Medical Receptionists, Social Support Workers and visiting Allied Health service providers. You are primarily responsible for the Normanton Primary Health Care Clinic, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective primary health care services to local clients. The scope of the role spans all aspects of:



  • Business Planning

  • Administration

  • Financial Management

  • Clinical Leadership & Staff Management

  • Quality & Safety




What you'll need to succeed
You will have the appropriate qualifications as outlined below and certified copies of the required documentation must be provided prior to commencement of this role :



  • Current Registered Nurse Registration with AHPRA

  • Preferably with a minimum five (5) years Health Management experience

  • Understanding of health issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

  • Leading compliance to 'best practice' approaches in clinical practice

  • Knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule and it's application in the ACCHS setting

  • Current C Class Driver's Licence (QLD)

  • Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain

  • National Police Check or willingness to obtain

You will be offered flexible working hours to facilitate a work-life balance however, travel and work outside of normal working hours is required to meet operational delivery schedules.
