The Role:

The Weekly Times is seeking an experienced state political reporter who can tell rural Victoria about the political issues that matter to them. You'll create accurate, informed and reader centric content of the highest quality. You may be required to work flexible hours, including weekend work. This position offers an attractive salary, use of a company car for work purposes, and the chance to work in one of the world's most dynamic media companies.

The Person:

As the successful applicant, you will have strong digital skills and be adept at getting stories to audiences on multiple platforms. You will have a proven ability to write compelling news and feature stories, be a strong team player, but also a self-starter, and can work to tight print and digital deadlines.

A strong knowledge of Victorian politics and contacts within the political system would be ideal.

An understanding of agribusiness and agricultural commodities would be an advantage.

The ability to develop and implement new ideas is crucial, particularly through social media and digital platforms.
