Receptionist

A local Cairns business is seeking a motivated and professional Receptionist to join their busy outfit.

Our client has been operating for four decades supplying professional signs and printing services to a large client base throughout Queensland and PNG. The business is a medium size operation employing 20 to 25 employees and renowned for their innovative and efficient solutions.

Over the years they have been nationally recognised for their work, receiving numerous industry awards. A strong commitment to environmental responsibilities is demonstrated by being the first company in Queensland to install printers with 100% environmentally friendly silicone inks and recyclable media.

The Job

As a Receptionist you are there to providing general assistance to the customers and the management team. This position is a maternity contract with full-time hours for a period of 9 months to commence on the 11th of June.

Job Duties:

  • General phone and reception duties;
  • Liaise with customers on reception and over the telephone concerning company products and signage processes
  • Have knowledge of and the ability to discuss the companies range of products, materials, design and production processes with customers
  • Quoting, placing and tracking orders
  • General administrational and office tasks such as collecting mail, ordering stationery, data entry and general cleaning duties
  • Managing calendars of meetings and events plus organise travel
  • Maintaining and printing the daily production schedule in conjunction with the Production Manager
  • Maintaining logs and spreadsheets as required by the Management Team
  • Arranging, attending and minuting management meetings
  • Assist with sales processes by converting quotes to orders, processing payments and issuing daily quotes and revenue reports
  • Organise deliveries
  • Assist with organisation of social club events

Essential Criteria

  • Prior experience in same role
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and XERO
  • Existing knowledge of printing industry beneficial
  • Proven experience in Office administration and Reception in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Calm and focused disposition even under pressure
  • Planning, organisation and prioritising skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
