The Company

Your prospective new employer is a market leader who creates document solutions for the Travel Industry. This company has 25 years’ experience in the tourism industry launching their newest product in 2017 and has a global footprint of B2B subscribers already.

The Workplace

You will be situated in the city of Cairns sharing a modern and professional office space with technology entrepreneurs.

The Customer

Your clients are boutique travel agencies who are looking to create a unique experience for their customers, through high quality, bespoke travel proposals and documents without the huge effort and expense.

The Role

This newly created role is a 360 sales role with a 2-fork approach; one is to grow leads turning them into ongoing subscription clients and the second is to approve and build a foundation for sales systems and processes that can be duplicated around the globe. You will be working in Australian and global markets offering a unique product which greatly increases your client’s conversation opportunity.

This is a business development role and is about building and maintaining relationships. As this is a Cairns based position your customer communication will be mainly dealt over the phone and by using electronic and video conferencing tools. There will be travel opportunities available.

You will able to achieve your monthly revenue targets through the following means:

  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Consistent daily call metrics
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining positive business and customer relationships
  • Manage a sales pipeline and maintain the customer subscription database
  • Execute renewals of expiring maintenance and annual subscription agreements
  • Up-selling and cross-selling within the install base to generate new license opportunities
  • Net new subscription sales to prospective clients


  • You will identify development potential in accounts by studying current business; interviewing key customer personnel and company personnel; identifying and evaluating additional needs; analysing opportunities.
  • Initiate sales process by building relationships; qualifying potential; scheduling appointments
  • Develops sales by making the initial presentation; explaining solution and service enhancements and additions; introducing new products and services
  • Develops new opportunities by preparing quotes; conferring with solution consultants
  • Close sales by overcoming objections; preparing contracts
  • Contributes information to sales strategies by evaluating current results; identifying needs to be filled; monitoring competitive products; analysing and relaying customer reactions
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Undertake all training and development opportunities for continued growth

Our ideal candidate

  • A dynamic, assertive, software sales professionals with high intellect
  • Experience or knowledge of the Tourism Industry within the Travel agency space will be highly regarded
  • Thrives to update personal knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Sales experience with strong opening and closing record
  • Solid Business development and account management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Experience working with Pipedrive.com or similar CRM preferred but not essential
  • Exceptional track record of quota and goal achievement
  • 2+ years sales experience – Preferred to be high-tech sales but not essential
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent
