About the role – Are you ready?


As an Engineering Team Lead, you will manage our team of Network Engineers in Canberra, focused on one key Federal Government customer. Your team will provide a high level of technical support and post-sales delivery service to our customer.


Primarily, you’ll need to provide strong people and technical leadership to team of Senior Network and Network Engineers across customer and Optus locations. This team offer the customer comprehensive design, implementation, scoping and technical support and the resolution of complex problems relating to network, IP Telephony, security, storage and wireless solutions.


What does success look like?


Before you call/apply please be aware that this role involves work for the Australian Government and will potentially have access to classified information/resources. As such, a security clearance is required and therefore it is a requirement that the successful candidate be an Australian Citizen.


What will make the difference between the successful candidate and the rest is a proven track record of leadership and the management of teams of Engineers, ideally within a Managed Services environment, working with Federal Government customers. You’ll enjoy the challenges of managing different personalities, while providing clear direction and leadership to your team and customer on all technical matters.


You should also possess extensive experience in design, installation and support of core network technologies together with Riverbed Optimisation and Cisco wireless solutions. You’ll also have obvious desirable technical qualifications which may include Cisco/Juniper Certifications in Routing, Switching, Wireless and Security technologies – CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, JNCIP etc.
