Early Learning Consultant VIC

Are you a motivated Early Learning Professional who wants to make a difference? Join our National Professional Practice Team as an Early Learning Consultant! This is a 12 month Maternity cover contract working 4 days / week based in our Port Melbourne office however you will be required to travel to our centres across the state.


Our Early Learning Consultants are highly skilled practitioners who are motivated to assist in improving the quality of early learning across Goodstart Centres.

The key responsibilities of our Consultants include:


  • Being subject matter expert in the NQS and EYLF
  • Collaborating, consulting, coaching and mentoring of Educators, Teachers and Centre Directors for high quality educational programs and practice
  • Providing practise-based early childhood education leadership
  • Developing and supporting the implementation of action plans
  • Developing and delivering high quality professional learning ( workshops & communities of practice)


 The successful candidate will:


  • Be Bachelor qualified in Early Childhood or in another related discipline
  • Have extensive early childhood experience
  • Have strong adult education experience
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
  • Have insightful perspectives on challenging behaviours that demonstrate awareness of early childhood development
  • Have concrete, appropriate knowledge for teachers to use to address challenging behaviours in the centres
  • Have a coaching philosophy / style that matches the philosophy of Goodstart’s vision and goals
  • Be open to having a flexible schedule that allows for multiple observations at varying times of the day
  • Be able to commit to intermittent overnight travel
  • Have strong technology skills
  • Have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
