Your new company
Based in Geelong for over 10 years, Hays Recruitment are the only local preferred supplier choice to Federal, State and Local Government organisations as well as leading employers across Geelong, Ballarat, Horsham, Warrnambool and Western Victoria.


Working with a Federal Government agency with its National Headquarters in Geelong, we are currently looking to appoint a Director – Process Design for an initial 2 year fixed term.


Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for the establishment of a comprehensive Process Design capability across all service delivery, corporate and engagement areas.


Your team will oversee the development of new processes, process maps, technological design mapping and documentation to ensure improvements to participant and provider pathways are scalable and understood by the Agency and Partners in the Community, as well as working with Director - Continuous Improvement to identify CI opportunities across all business processes.


You will also lead a range of business establishment tasks, including recruitment, on-boarding and capability building of a team.


Other deliverables include:



  • Oversee the design of new end-to-end service delivery processes.

  • Standard Operating process design and documentation

  • Oversee the production of process maps for end-to-end delivery to participants and providers.

  • Ensure appropriate controls are mapped and established. All associated risks around scalability are documented and addressed.

  • Provide process mapping capability to participant and provider pathway reviews, ensuring change between existing processes and expected change is identified.

  • Oversee the design, development and maintenance of internal operating processes and systems in accordance with organisational strategy.

  • Ensure processes for the participant and provider pathways are designed effectively with human-centred user experience considered and risk management and compliance controls in place.


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in these roles, you will be able to demonstrate:



  • Extensive experience in Business Analysis, Process Design, Process Improvement and Change Management

  • Strong knowledge of contemporary tools and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC), BPM, UML and Agile Project Management

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage a complex process mapping function in a nationally dispersed organisation

  • Proven leadership experience in guiding, mentoring, developing and empowering staff

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence to deliver significant outcomes for a wide range internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong skills with MS Visio

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency


Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification will be advantageous, as will previous experience in a similar role within the public sector.
