Demand Planner - Melbourne

Support the S&OP function by ensuring accurate demand forecasts in an FMCG manufacturing environment based in Melbourne!

The Company

My client is a leading food manufacturer at the forefront of their industry supplying to both local and international markets. Producing high quality products, they require a talented Demand Planner to assist with forecasting across categories which are experiencing continued growth. With an emphasis on innovation and investment within the company this will be an important position based at their head office in Melbourne.

The Role

Reporting into the Demand Planning Manager and sitting in the S&OP team your responsibilities will include;

  • Design and generate weekly and monthly statistical forecast reports
  • Ensure the demand planning process is timely, accurate and verifiable
  • Co-ordinate and maintain the long term forecast in conjunction with sales and marketing
  • Attend and contribute to S&OP meetings
  • Assist with the implementation of optimum inventory levels to ensure delivery to meet agreed service levels
  • Assist with co-ordinating long term monthly production plans and raw material requirements with all relevant business units
  • Work closely with supply planners to ensure production is aligned with forecasts
  • Provide performance feedback to sales, marketing, operations and logistics

Your Background

In order to be successful in this role you will need to;

  • Have at least 2 years` demand planning experience within food manufacturing
  • Exposure to a flexible, customer driven supply chain including specific experience in demand planning
  • Good understanding of forecasting systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally
  • Experience with a short shelf life product
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to make strong decisions and engage current team members
  • Ideally tertiary educated
