Located in the heart of Melbourne on RMIT`s City Campus, the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies is one of RMIT`s largest schools. The School`s vision is to contribute to a just and sustainable world, and to deliver education, training and research in four areas of focus:
We provide academic programs in both Vocational and Higher Education, from certificate to PhD, in these four main areas. We are a strongly research active school with research centres of national and international reputation - the Centre for Urban Research and the Social and Global Studies Centre.
The Role & Your Responsibilities
You will coordinate quality and innovation vocational educational activities for Community Services programs to ensure that quality and innovation plans are successfully implemented within the School. You will also provide coordination support for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching materials, products and services to meet the needs of enterprises, industry and students.
You will interact effectively with external organisations and with other RMIT Schools, in particular program coordinators, teaching staff and administration staff. You will coordinate the provision of professional development activities which enable teachers to maintain currency in vocational education competencies relevant to community services programs.
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful you will have relevant vocational education experience that includes quality and innovation skills in the development of a range of Community Services VE programs. Substantial discipline knowledge, demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment and the capacity to diagnose learning problems in students and implement effective solutions. Your effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to vocational education environments including effective presentation and facilitation skills will see you succeed in this role.
To be appointed at this classification of Senior Educator 1, the appointee must hold a professional teaching qualification, defined as a qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University.
