We are now seeking to appoint a qualified Navigational or Principal Warfare Officer Specialist in this leadership role to manage the contract responsible to the Royal Australian Navy for delivering training to the next generation of Australian Navy officers.

This role is based at the HMAS Watson Bridge Training Faculty and reports directly to the Executive General Manager, Military Support and Marine Services. You you will be responsible for:

  • Providing direction and team leadership for a talented team of non-uniformed ex Navy Instructors within the Bridge Training and Simulation schools
  • Managing all aspects of the Services Contract to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), including financial control
  • Delivering assigned training as required
  • Ensuring dissemination, compliance and enforcement of Company Policies and Procedures with particular reference to safety
  • Identifying and coordinating training requirements for Contract personnel
  • Identifying new Defence opportunities for Serco and developing good relationships with key Defence stakeholders

To be considered, you must have served in the RAN (or international equivalent) as a Navigation or Principal Warfare Officer specialist and have had command of Major Fleet Unit. You will be required to hold and maintain a Defence security clearance of NV1, or above.

You will have the ability to remain calm in high pressure situations and possess exceptional leadership and management skills.
