Consultant Medical Oncologist
You will contribute to the provision of safe, best practice, cost effective clinical services to patients of and referred to the Medical Oncology Unit. Working in a multidisciplinary team in the Northern Adelaide Cancer Centre based at Lyell McEwin Hospital, you will assist the Hospital in achieving best practice in the design and delivery of clinical services to its patients. You will provide a specialist opinion on patients within the inpatient ward, day chemotherapy ward and outpatient department, ensuring the appropriate documentation of clinical care in patients' medical records and ensuring the timely provision of discharge summaries, written specialist opinions and requested medical reports. You will contribute to teaching medical students, nursing staff, undergraduate and postgraduates, as well as participating in relevant research and clinical trials. Striving to ensure high standards of safety and quality within the Unit, you will take part in hospital and college exams along with training programmes and participate in various meetings and committees of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network and allied organisations. With state of the art facilities, the Lyell McEwin Hospital is fast becoming a major tertiary facility. Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with specialist registration. Demonstrating Medical Oncology clinical experience and a proven track record in clinical teaching, quality improvement activities, clinical trials and research, you will be capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
