Reporting to the Head of Prudential Governance and Policy, this role is responsible for providing maintain, developing, implementing and monitoring various policies, processes and licences as they relate to the overarching Compliance Management Framework.
In particular you will:
Maintain, develop, implement and monitor Enterprise Compliance owned policies and processes across the Westpac Group
To implement and continue to evolve best practice in policy writing, implementation and monitoring
To provide high quality compliance policy drafting, change management and advice across all Westpac divisions
Contribute to implementing an effective compliance framework and operating model
Help build new compliance infrastructure
Work closely with stakeholders across all 3 lines of defence for policy development, change management and implementation, as well as continuous improvement, to ensure a seamless experience for users
Provide specialist compliance advice for business and regulatory change initiatives
Supportthe ‘compliant by design’ process when responding to regulatory change
Develop and conduct 2nd line monitoring
Support the delivery of 2nd line controls assurance
Promote compliance by deliveringtraining and communication programmes
Simplify compliance processes and contribute to the Westpac’s simplification strategy
Contribute to completing industry consultations
Develop compliance solutions and associated ‘tools’ that will support business and compliance outcomes
Facilitate the annual Compliance Management attestation process
Tertiary qualifications in Law or Commerce (desirable) or related discipline
5+ years working experience, developing and advising on compliance frameworks and issues
5+ years working experience in the financial services industry
Understanding of compliance obligations
Ideally, interest and/or experience in digital/emerging technologies (FinTech) and/or business strategy
Understanding the Australian banking market in terms of challenges, trends, competitive & regulatory environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
