Your new Organisation
Our client is seeking a Senior Child Protection Practitioners on a permanent full-time basis. If you have the relevant experience and qualifications as detailed below please send your resume for review as soon as possible. We have been asked to recruit for candidates to fill these vacancies on an ongoing (permanent) basis. These are Professional Level 1 and 2 positions, so not suitable for new graduates or inexperienced candidates. The candidates will require a Degree level qualification and significant experience, with the ability to mentor other staff and handle highly complex cases.
Your new role
These positions form part of the out of home care and Family Support services and are required for the delivery of case work and case management to clients including some complex cases. You will be responsible for ensuring young children and youths are being given the necessary support and care whilst outside of their home environment as well as providing care plans for struggling families. You will be liaising with carers’ and service providers to offer guidance to make sure a high level of service is being delivered in accordance with legislation and welfare services best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for these positions you must have demonstrated experience working in the assessment of out of home care services or child protection. You must also have a degree of an Australian tertiary institution, which gives eligibility for membership of the Australian Community Workers Association, the Australian Association of Social Workers, or the Australian Psychological Society. You will be used to working under pressure in a sensitive and challenging environment and work to strict deadlines. You will have the ability to analyse individuals and services and have excellent communication skills in order to effectively liaise with people from diverse cultures.
It is desirable that you have a current NT driver’s license and are prepared to travel in vehicles or light aircraft with possible overnight stays. You will also have a Working with Children Clearance and be able to undergo a Police Check.

This organisation is able to consider inter-state applicants but cannot offer relocation costs.
Salaries sit between $63,661 - 73,619 for P1 and $75,822 - $90,927 for P2 plus super depending on seniority and experience.
