A rare opportunity to join this highly reputable Private School executive as the Business Manager.
Founded in the 1980`s, the school provides education from Kindergarten to Year 12 and currently has about 1,000 enrolled students. Teaching and non-teaching staff are proud to be a part of the school and they have leadership from a very well experienced Principal and executive team.
The Business Manager is a part of the Executive team, reporting directly to the Principal. Managing two established team members, this role takes ownership for the financial reporting and compliance of the school ensuring its financial viability. The role is not limited however to finance and spans across the management of facilities, buildings, HR and future planning. As such you will be working with and maintaining relationships with teaching and non-teaching staff including groundsmen, parents, external contractors and the School Council.
A finance professional with a keen interest in working within a school environment, you will hold at least a tertiary qualification in accounting and be able to demonstrate that you can own a finance function to include the basics of GST and FBT reporting through to preparation of capital and operational budgets.
If you have worked with a school or educational facility previously it will be highly regarded but more important is your interpersonal skills and match to a job of this nature. You will be able to take a `firm but fair` approach to be able to push back on staff members where needed, but you will also be able to be empathetic yet practical when working with parents who may be struggling to meet fee payments.
You will be happy to really embrace the culture of the school and get involved with school events wherever possible, as such you must pass a Working with Children and Police Clearance check.

A salary commensurate with your experience will be on offer, starting point c. $160,000 plus superannuation.
