Business Analyst job for key educational organisation, working on a Faculty Operating Model.


Your new company
This key NSW University is undergoing a major program of work to design a new consolidated Faculty Operating Model which combines multiple departments who have previously had their own structure and processes. In response to this, they are seeing 2 experience Business to develop new business processes.


Your new role
The role of Business Analyst will be responsible for;



  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key employees

  • Understand the current operational and functional requirements to build cohesive model interactions

  • Identify, document and analysis business ‘to-be’ processes

  • Accurately document and describe requirements of future model

  • Participate in workshops to document processes

  • Develop process documentation to be understood by technical and non-technical staff

  • Develop process ownership matrices, ensuring business units are aware of the processes they own

  • Assist in planning for a range of consultation and information gathering activities

  • Highlight change impacts of future processes

  • Act as SME within department

  • Act as a flexible analytical resource for ad-hoc activities

  • Liaise with project teams for IT developments




What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have;



  • Extensive experience working as a Business Analyst, analysing and interpreting complex business environment

  • You will have a successful background working in transformation projects, ideally within operating model or organisation merges

  • High level of oral and written communication is essential

  • Proven ability to translate business process findings to non-project audiences

  • Proven experience working in a project environment with no current state

  • High level proficiency in MS Office and related applications

  • Knowledge of change management methodologies is highly desirable to ensure the constructive relationship with the wider project team

  • A background in Higher Education is beneficial
