About the Roles:

We are actively seeking to employ a specialised role covering our Work Ready, Release Ready (WRRR) services and internal Allied Health services across the North West Country region in South Australia. You will support prisoners both pre-release and post-release from local prisons under the Work Ready, Release Ready program, you will also deliver Allied Health services to our clients in employment services to assist in addressing their non-vocational barriers. This role will report to the Work Ready, Release Ready Manager and  work closely with the Allied Health Program Manager as well. This role will be full time and ongoing.

Work Ready Release Ready Mentor

You will work with prisoners pre and post release to engage in services to transition smoothly into society with the aim of preventing re-offending. WRRR Mentors will deliver group based career and job search groups in prison, case manage prisoners and identify and address vocational and non-vocational support post release to these ex-offenders. You will source and support employment placement and six months or more of post-placement mentoring. This component is 3 days/week.

Allied Health Practitioner

You will provide evidence based best-practice assessment, diagnosis, formulation, treatment and prevention of a wide range of mental health disorders and other systemic barriers preventing clients from entering employment or beginning study. You will work across a range of Workskil Australia jobactive sites supporting our clients to address their non-vocational barriers and through times of crisis. The role may also involve delivery of training relevant to the field, and consultancy with other service providers. This component is 2 days/week. 

What we're looking for  

  • Demonstrated experience in a role that requires intensive mentoring to a disadvantaged cohort;
  • Demonstrated competence in the application of a wide range of psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions to consumers with complex needs;
  • Strong skills in data entry, ability to use the Microsoft Office suite (including Excel) and ability to type (minimum 30 words per minute);
  • Degree qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health;
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with a wide range of services;
  • Experience working in the prison system or with ex-offenders (desired); and
  • A current SA driver’s license.

A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. By way of guidance, the base salary will be in the range of $60K to $65K plus superannuation. As Workskil Australia is a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax effective salary packaging.
