Software Asset Management - Manager/Senior Manager

As a Manager/Senior Manager within our Software Asset management team, you will provide the licensing subject matter expertise to ensure the daily activities of the team are executed according to strategy and plans. You will provide expertise to Product Owners and their teams, across Macquarie, to ensure the appropriate software licensing is procured against the stated usage. You will play a hands on role in the completion of regular asset baseline updates and vendor reconciliations to maintain Macquarie’s compliant position against existing entitlements.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Providing software licensing subject matter expertise to Technology and Business teams who are assessing new solutions or upgrades to existing solutions to provide recommendations on the appropriate licensing required to support the intended usage.
  • Complete regular baseline reconciliation updates for SAM vendors to the agreed timelines, engaging with Product Owners and Technology resources across the bank as required.
  • Provide direction and requirements to the SAM Tools Team to ensure all tools required by the SAM Team are maintained and extended in support of the SAM strategy.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities with renewals and general license usage.
  • Identify required remediation activities in order to restore Macquarie’s compliance position with software vendors.

To excel in this role you will ideally have experience with and a current understanding of key license metrics with the key software vendors at Macquarie Group (Microsoft, SAP, IBM & Oracle). You will also:

  • Have a sound comprehension of IT environments/infrastructure.
  • Appreciation and understanding of the financial services industry and a commercial mindset in order to make sound business recommendations.
  • Ability to analyse data and problem solve to reach a well-reasoned recommendations
  • Familiarity with SAM standards or frameworks (e.g. ISO 19770-X) is an advantage.
