The Mater Hospital is a world class facility operating over 231 hospital beds and with our Maternity unit being voted the Best Private Maternity Unit in NSW, our experienced team of healthcare professionals, care givers and support staff are equipped to provide the highest level of therapeutic, medical and surgical services.


We have  Full Time/Part Time Senior Registered Nurse positions available for day/night duties on a rotating roster in the McQuion Ward at the Mater Hospital. McQuion Ward is a 29 bedded fast paced surgical ward specialising in gynaecology, urology, ENT, bariatric, plastic, colorectal and general surgery.


The Senior Registered Nurse will be in charge of the department in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager.

About You


The candidate must have: 

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in acute surgical nursing with recent experience in gynaecology and/or urology
  • Paediatric nursing experience or willingness to participate in training (desirable)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to working hard in a close team environment
  • Dedication to delivering high standards of care
  • Team leadership skills and experience
  • Basic computer skills
