This well regarded SA owned and operated business has an excellent reputation in the engineering and construction industry. They operate multiple entities, holding an enviable position in their specialist area and are anticipating ongoing growth. The position is located in the northern suburbs.

Your new role
Working in a well-rounded small finance team, your position will be varied and involve a combination of the following:

  • Checking and approving time and attendance entries

  • Maintaining regular communication between Project/Team Managers and employees in regards to timesheets

  • Processing weekly payroll including Superannuation, WorkCover, Payroll Tax and PAYG

  • Create and implement new payroll and superannuation formulae and processes

  • Processing Payroll Adjustments as necessary

  • Assisting Employees with payroll queries and issues

  • Adhering to strict deadlines for payroll processing

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements

  • Compiling and analysing financial information to prepare entries

  • Preparation of P&L and financial analysis

  • High level of stakeholder engagement with the Company Directors and Project Managers

  • Assist with budgets and forecasts

  • Minimal invoice processing required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Industry experience from construction, civil, resources, or engineering

  • Tenure in an all-round bookkeeper/accountant position involving payroll

  • Proficiency in bookkeeping to balance sheet

  • Ability to prepare a variety of financial reports for the Senior Accountant

  • Degree or certificate qualifications favourable but not essential, CA/CPA not necessary
