Security Consultant - Policy

Your new company
This nationally recognised financial services company are about to undergo a very large remediation project within their security policy services department. As a result, they are keen to engage with a experienced security consultants to come on board on a contracting basis.


Your new role
As a senior consultant you will liaise with stakeholders (internal and external) to understand their business and security requirements and deliver security policy related solutions. The role requires strong and effective thought leadership and an ability to understand risks and controls to ensure the security posture is maintained.


What you'll need to succeed



  • Deep technical skills across the majority of the below technologies:

    • F5 and Check Point firewalls;

    • Algosec firewall management;

    • zScaler and McAfee proxies;

    • Venafi certificate management platform;

    • DLP technologies;

    • CASB technologies;

    • Cisco ISE (NAC); and

    • Crypto;



  • Ability to analyse security policy issues at a technical level and abstract back to a higher level and establish plans to remediate the risk of data leakage and external threats

  • Ability to implement additional automation across all platforms to improve delivery times and to drive always on improvements

  • Ability to influence stakeholders to ensure appropriate security controls are implemented or the decision is documented explaining the impact and the risk

  • Good understanding problem, change and incident management;

  • Good understanding of all aspects of the systems/software development lifecycle;

  • Technical knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts; and




What you'll get in return
You will be offered a 6 - 12 month contract at an attractive day rate with a view to going permanent. You will work in a complex environment within a large team of collaborative and supportive colleagues.
