Due to staff movement, an opportunity now exists for a Risk & Compliance Manager (Accounting), to join the Tax and Accounting Services Team (TAS) in Adelaide.
Your role will provide the opportunity to manage and lead the risk and compliance functions within the Adelaide Tax and Accounting Services team. This includes co-ordination and monitoring of audit and compliance activities, ensuring the team maintain a strong control environment, undertaking first line testing of key controls, researching and assisting with technical issues and projects as well as helping to coordinate training and development within the team.
In addition, you will be responsible for providing senior oversight in relation to the fund level accounting activities including thetimeliness, accuracy and completeness of all Financial Statements, APRA returns and Tax returns produced by the team.
We are seeking an experienced people leader with 5-7 years of Accounting experience. Your expertise in financial reporting is essential. You are naturally engaging and have a flair for building and fostering relationships at all levels. Your superior consultation skills give you the edge in articulating vision and facilitating buy in.
To be successful in this role, we are seeking your demonstrated experience in the following:
Degree qualifications in Accounting
CA / CPA Qualification or working towards
Proven extensive experience (5-7yrs) in an audit or risk & compliance role
Relevant industry experience
Strong accounting and tax technical knowledge, including working knowledge of accounting standards and tax legislation.
Strong understanding of risk and compliance and demonstrated experience in enhancing the risk and compliance culture in an organisation.
Experience with APRA reporting
Experience in managing projects or programs of work in highly complex environment
Experience in managing across multiple functions
Experience in identifying and implementing continuous process improvement
Experience in driving change management
Experience in stakeholder management
Experience in leading customer focused teams
