Procurement Administrator Job

Together with our Alliance partner SA Water, Allwater is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater networks and associated assets throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area.

Allwater are seeking applications for an experienced Procurement Administrator to join the Finance and Administration team in the Adelaide CBD. This role will be responsible for ensuring goods and services are obtained/engaged competitively, efficiently and in a timely manner, in accordance with Allwater’s Purchasing Guidelines and the Procurement Management Plan. This fast paced role will work closely with the Procurement team, Stores, Operations Managers/Supervisors, Contractors and Suppliers.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring timely and cost competitive supply of goods and services for Allwater through key purchasing activities in line with Procurement Plan.
  • Conducting financial analysis to ensure competitive pricing from suppliers for goods and services.
  • Assisting with the selection and negotiation of reliable sources of supply through liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to support the Expression of Interest and tender process.
  • Engaging approved suppliers and working with key suppliers to improve value delivered to Allwater.
  • Managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with contractual arrangements.
  • Setting up Purchase Orders and Contract Orders, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
  • Assisting, reviewing and, when necessary, amending to the Procurement Plan and other purchasing tasks, as required by the Procurement Manager.
  • Providing support to the Procurement Manager.

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:

  • An ability to professionally and collaboratively communicate with stakeholders at all levels through clear written and verbal forms.
  • Previous experience in a procurement role within a large organisation. (essential)
  • An ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, set and meet deadlines and follow-through.
  • Experience using a tender and contract management system.
  • Experience using SAP. (highly desirable)
  • Display a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Flexibility and a hands-on approach when working in a team.
  • Adeptly use Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.

Please note you must hold a full drivers licence, and be eligible to work in Australia to be considered for this role. The successful candidate will have a willingness to work additional hours on occasions and be a team player.
