Teaching Director job in Community run childcare centre in Fairfield. Part Time opportunity with set hours

This not for profit Community organisation is in need of an experienced Teaching Director to take on a leadership role within their childcare service, located in Fairfield. This community organisation is dedicated to providing support to the local community within aged, disability, mental health and child care.

The childcare centre has been operating for over 20 years and provides environmentally stable and homely surroundings, to support the practices and regulations of the NQS.

Your new role
As an ECT qualified Director you will take on the responsibilities of the day to day operation of this 39 place child care centre. You will split your time with role modelling best practice on the floor and covering programming time for educators, as well as administration and other leadership duties. You will also have the opportunity to be part of the senior management team within the larger community organisation, which will allow you to develop your exposure and understanding of community involvement.

You will have previous experience in running a successful childcare centre and a strong understanding of the overall operation, including legal requirements and financials. You will be in charge of the day to day operation of the centre, mentoring and training staff, interacting with parents and families and ensuring the centre meets the required regulations. You will also be excited about the prospect of stepping on the floor to cover for educators’ programming time, so this would suit someone who is passionate about maintaining their teaching and relationship with children.

What you'll need to succeed

  • ACECQA assessed ECT qualification

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Be an advocate of inclusive practices and cultural diversity

  • Previous Director or Coordinator experience
