Your new role
As Manager, Economics you’ll be responsible for providing innovative and well considered analyses of the healthcare sector. Your work will support policy development and assess the implications of changes to government policies. You’ll also provide input to the development of strategic objectives, projects, priorities and plans on data analysis and related economic matters.
What you'll need to succeed
Utilising your skills in critically analysing complex issues and synthesising and presenting information, you’ll oversee and undertake appropriate analyses to support policy development, proposals and submissions.
Your proven financial acumen will ensure effective cost modelling of government proposals and their implications on the organisation and its members.
You’ll have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a constantly changing environment, and to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure.
Your communication skills, both written and verbal, will be first-class as you’ll be liaising with senior stakeholders, including clinicians.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Economics, Financial Analysis, Statistics or similar. Given the analytical nature of the role, it would suit somebody with a background in financial market analysis or high level data research, who has advanced skills in Excel and working knowledge of SPSS, R or Python. In addition, an understanding of health funding would be highly advantageous.
Preferably you’ll also have people management experience as this position has one direct report and the potential for another.
