Head of Risk

Based in Sydney, NSW the role of the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a newly created position responsible for leading the strategic design, implementation and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk management framework to ensure the organisation utilises consistent and integrated risk management practices. The CRO leads a team that enable analysis and assessment of risk, and the implementation of actions to mitigate threats to the successful delivery of corporate and business plans and desired outcomes.
The successful candidate would be responsible for leading the risk management function to provide effective and timely risk reporting to support the executive level of the organisation, implement the risk management policy, procedure and strategy and represent the organisation at meetings and other forums in an executive capacity on risk management matters.
Leading by example you would be managing a dispersed team of risk management professionals to enable consistent and high quality risk management practices in accordance with the organisations risk management framework.
It’s important that you would develop close and effective working relationships with senior executives, managers, and specialist risk advisors to ensure the seamless integration of risk identification, assessment and reporting; and meet and manage their expectations while providing business critical services. You will achieve the required level of influence and credibility across the organisation to ensure the alignment of risk management frameworks and the escalation of risks and issues are managed appropriately.
To be successful you will be degree qualified in Commerce, Business, Finance or a relevant discipline, you will have significant management experience of a team of risk managers within a large complex business. The ideal candidate will also have an excellent knowledge of risk management and related regulatory topics, risk assessment and management methodologies, risk mitigation and measurement techniques.
